Description
In the Mood are a 40s swing band based in Nottinghamshire. Perfect for themed occasions or indeed any event looking to create that classic Glenn Miller and 1940s swing sound.
Band Leader
Bandleader and trumpeter Kevin’s experience ranges from playing drums in Glam Rock and Doo-Wop bands to lead and section trumpet player for the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, the Memphis Belles, the Nick Ross Orchestra, the Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular and Rat Pack Live touring company amongst others. Kevin’s gentle humour and solos are an essential part of this band’s UK success.
Band options
A full-size big band has the best sound; however, we know that this is not always an option because of budget or space. That is why we this band offers different line-ups…including one of the best horn sections in the UK, you can get a big band sound with just an 8 piece. All the numbers have been brilliantly arranged to acheieve an authentic 40s swing band sound…just listen to the clips! Add in a Sinatra style vocalist and you have a swinging evening packed with humour and foot-tapping nostalgia.
Experience
The band has had vast experience and has played at large corporate events and festivals, including the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival…sell out shows on both ocassions! Whatever the occasion, whether it’s a private party or wedding, this band are guaranteed to get you swinging.

A fabulous evening. What a great show and can’t believe I haven’t seen them before. Will definitely see them again.
Fantastic evening of brilliant music and song. Four of us have been coming to see you since 2005. You just keep getting better. Superb!
The band were fabulous and contributed enormously to the success of the event.
Thoroughly enjoyed your show at the Buccleuch Centre Langholm on Saturday 9th April 2016.
Thank You Barbara, John and Valerie
On behalf of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots I would like to offer you my thanks for providing such an outstanding musical feast at our Gala Dinner in the America Air Museum.
From the outstanding ambience you generated for the guests’ arrival, through the excellent set lists, your set flexibility, to the enthralling dancing which the band inspired, the orchestra excelled expectations in every respect. The combination of visual and aural delights set the perfect conditions for a magical evening.
