Where do your London bands and musicians perform?
Our London bands are available to hire for weddings and events across the capital, from Chelsea and Ealing to East London and beyond.
We work alongside some of the finest wedding venues in the city, from prestigious hotels, such as the Savoy, to museums and exhibition centres, including Camden Roundhouse. What packages do your wedding bands offer?
To keep things simple, our London wedding bands offer all-inclusive packages to cover every aspect of your entertainment. This includes 2 hours of music split into 2 x 60 or 3 x 40 minute sets, DJ playlists during breaks, a sound system and stage lighting.
If you’re looking for a special song, most bands will happily include a song request in the quote – usually as the first dance song.
For your peace of mind, all our wedding musicians come with full Public Liability Insurance and PAT-tested equipment.
How do timings work?
Our evening function bands usually arrive at about 5:30pm/6pm so they’re ready to set up and sound check as soon as your wedding breakfast and speeches have finished. Set up often takes about an hour or so, giving guests a short break to top up their glasses and mingle.
When it comes to planning your schedule, every wedding is unique. As a general guide, we recommend starting with playlists or a wedding DJ from about 7pm, and then kicking off with the wedding band at about 8:30/9pm. It’s best to schedule your evening food between the band’s sets, so these timings can vary to suit you and your wedding venue.
Optional Extras
If you’re looking for a London wedding band to provide a full-day package, we have a range of options available. Below are some of the most popular extras our bands offer:
How many musicians are there in a London function band?
If you’re looking to get the dancing started, we recommend starting with a 3-piece band, featuring a singer/guitarist, bass player and drummer. Our trios often have a rockier edge, making them ideal for clients who lean more towards indie and rock than R&B or Motown music.
The 4-piece is often considered the defacto function band line-up, perfect for those looking for a diverse repertoire that appeals to a wide audience. With the addition of keys, or a second guitar, the range of genres opens up to include everything from 80s synth classics to contemporary pop, dance and hip-hop.
From there, you’ll find 5-piece bands with additional saxophone and larger line-ups to include everything from male and female vocals to a full horn section.
When it comes to choosing a line-up, there are no set rules. It usually comes down to budget and the size of the band that your venue can accommodate. If you need help deciding, please feel free to speak to a member of our team.
Do I need to book a wedding DJ?
No, if you’re booking a wedding band for the evening, our London bands include music between sets as part of their package. This generally refers to a curated playlist before the band, during the breaks, and after the band’s last set until midnight.
For something more interactive, most wedding bands offer optional DJ sets from a member of the band, allowing them to make announcements, take requests and manage the music on the night.
If you’d prefer to book a professional DJ to take care of your playlist, we work alongside a number of London DJs who are more than happy to work alongside your band. If you’re planning a late night of partying that runs into the early hours, hiring a separate DJ can often be cheaper than paying for multiple band members to stay past midnight.
