North Wales Wedding Band FAQs
Booking live wedding entertainment for your big day but not sure where to start? From understanding the booking process to ensuring your venue meets the band’s requirements, we’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions to guide you through.
How far in advance should I book a wedding band in North Wales?
It’s advisable to book 6-12 months in advance. Popular bands often get booked up to 18 months ahead, so early booking is key to securing your preferred choice.
Can the bands learn a specific song for our wedding day?
Most bands are happy to learn one new song per event, typically the first dance song. Please provide 6-8 weeks’ notice to allow sufficient preparation time.
What kind of equipment do the bands provide, and what will we need to arrange?
All bands come equipped with their PA system and lighting. You’ll need to provide a power supply and a suitable space for performance. You can find specific requirements on each band’s profile page.
How long do the bands typically play for at a wedding?
The usual performance time is either 3 sets of 40 minutes or 2 sets of 60 minutes, with a finish time of midnight. An optional extension to 1am is available for a small fee.
All bands provide playlists between sets until midnight to keep your guests dancing.
Do the wedding bands offer different packages or pricing options?
Some bands provide additional daytime music options, such as an acoustic duo during the afternoon or solo piano sets during dinner.
A number of our bands also offer an optional DJ service, usually handled by a band member, for a small extra fee.
What happens if a band member is unable to perform on the day?
All bands have deputy musicians available to fill in if required, ensuring the performance goes ahead as planned.
How does the payment process work for hiring a wedding band?
We require a small deposit, typically around 20%, to secure your booking.
What kind of space or stage do the bands require at the venue?
While a stage isn’t necessary, it certainly enhances the event. We recommend a space of approximately 4 x 3 meters for most 4-piece function bands.
How do the bands manage sound levels, especially in venues with noise restrictions?
If your venue has a sound limiter or specific noise restrictions, please let us know prior to making a booking. We’ll advise on suitable band options that can comply with these requirements.
